QinetiQ North America to Support Management of Federal Real Estate
Contract awarded to deliver GSA Public Buildings Service New Inventory System
Fairfax, Virginia—June 29, 2009 The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded QinetiQ North America’s ITS Corporation subsidiary a contract worth up to $39M over five years to deliver a new, custom-developed enterprise application to replace the GSA’s Public Buildings Service’s (PBS) legacy inventory system. The new system will enable the GSA to streamline its management of its 354 million square foot inventory of office buildings and other real property.
QinetiQ North America’s Mission Solutions Group will develop the new application at its Reston, Virginia, facility. The new inventory system will be the Public Buildings Service’s (PBS) core system, and the first built specifically to take advantage of the PBS eCommon Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform, also developed by QinetiQ North America.
“Our expertise in service oriented software development and government real estate management will help us deliver an outstanding solution to the GSA,” says David Riggs, Senior Vice President (Federal Solutions) at QinetiQ North America. “We enjoy a long relationship with GSA and with the Public Buildings Service in particular, and we look forward to extending that relationship.”
“This is an excellent opportunity for QinetiQ North America to showcase its leading-edge capabilities in service oriented software development,” says Steve Cambone, President of QinetiQ North America’s Mission Solutions Group. “We are all extremely pleased that GSA has chosen us for this work.”
QinetiQ North America will be performing this work under GSA’s Federal Supply Schedule 70—Information Technology Services. The company’s ITS Corporation subsidiary is a Schedule 70 prime contractor and a prime contract holder of GSA’s Alliant Government-Wide Acquisition Contract.
