Over time, these monitoring tools collect SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) statistics from network devices. This data is used to graph the results, monitor all your network statistics to proactively identify problems, and help in preparing vital network reports.

Monitoring uptime and trigger event-based scripting is at the heart of monitoring.
