Virtual Private Network (VPN)
A remote access VPN uses data security
technologies to securely connect remote employees to corporate information
resources via the Internet. In remote access VPN,
the user first connects to the Internet using a standard broadband or dialup
link.VPN client software running on a remote
machine uses a combination of encryption and authentication technologies
to establish a secure tunnel over the Internet to a VPN
gateway running at the edge of the corporate network.
In today's e-Business era, security is a top priority. Approximately
70% of all attacks come from inside an organization. Routers,
firewalls, and servers that use access lists and other methods
to ensure security of a private network are being placed inside
private networks to ensure maximum protection. 3H has implemented
VPN solutions for enterprise class deployments ranging over
2,100 users via Cisco VPN concentrators and Nokia/Checkpoint
software. VPN is an intelligent pipe that uses "tunneling"
to encrypt data at the IP level and send it securely from one
network to another over a public TCP/IP network. VPNs have all
